As the EHS Manager, you will be the guardian of our environmental and occupational health standards. Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and programs aligned with ISO 14001 and OSHA standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor changes in environmental legislation and occupational health regulations in Ontario and ensure the company remains compliant.
- Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
- Incident Investigation: Lead thorough investigations into accidents, near-misses, and incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Training & Awareness: Design and deliver engaging safety training programs and safety awareness campaigns for all employees.
- Emergency Preparedness: Oversee the development and testing of emergency response plans and evacuation procedures.
- Reporting: Prepare accurate EHS reports for management, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification: Professional designation such as CESP (Certified Environmental Safety Professional) or CRSP (Certified Registered Safety Professional) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS management, with a strong background in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHS management software (e.g., SafetyCulture, SAP EHS) and MS Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor safety champions across different departments.
- Language: Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
