Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring all patient data is current and complete.
- Perform routine audits and quality assurance checks to identify discrepancies and rectify errors before they impact patient care.
- Coordinate closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to facilitate the timely collection of clinical documentation.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and internal compliance protocols regarding patient privacy and data security.
- Generate and analyze reports regarding clinical metrics to support decision-making processes.
- Train junior staff on proper data entry techniques and software navigation.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or clinical documentation.
- Proficiency with EHR software (Epic or Cerner experience is a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare coding standards (ICD-10, CPT).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
