Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiac and thoracic surgeries including valve replacements, bypass grafts, and oncological resections
- Lead multidisciplinary care teams in perioperative patient management
- Participate in clinical trials and surgical innovation initiatives
- Mentor surgical residents and fellows through Mayo Clinic's renowned training programs
- Contribute to peer-reviewed publications and present at international conferences
- Utilize robotic-assisted platforms for minimally invasive procedures
- Develop patient-specific treatment plans using advanced imaging technology
Qualifications
- Board certification in General Surgery and Thoracic/Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Surgery from ACGME-accredited program
- Minimum 5 years of academic practice experience
- Active medical license in Minnesota or ability to obtain
- Strong record of peer-reviewed publications
- Experience with robotic surgical systems (da Vinci preferred)
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care principles
