Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, detailed medical histories, and physical examinations on adult cardiac patients.
- Formulate, implement, and monitor evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic plans for acute and chronic cardiac conditions.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including electrocardiograms (ECGs), echocardiograms, stress tests, and laboratory work.
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic therapies and non-pharmacologic interventions in compliance with Massachusetts state regulations.
- Collaborate dynamically with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, registered nurses, and allied health professionals to ensure seamless care transition.
- Provide extensive patient and family education regarding disease management, preventative health measures, and lifestyle modifications.
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an CCNE or ACEN accredited program.
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Massachusetts.
- Board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Minimum of two (2) years of dedicated clinical experience in cardiology, cardiac ICU, or a high-acuity cardiovascular environment.
- Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Epic or similar Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
