Responsibilities
- Assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures including angioplasty, stenting, and electrophysiology studies
- Monitor patient hemodynamics and EKG rhythms during procedures, responding immediately to changes
- Administer conscious sedation medications and emergency interventions per protocol
- Prepare and maintain specialized equipment (e.g., hemodynamic monitors, contrast injectors)
- Provide patient education on procedures and post-care instructions
- Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists during high-stakes procedures
- Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Minnesota or compact state
- BSN degree (MSN preferred)
- Minimum 3 years critical care or catheterization lab experience
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) proficiency
- Experience with complex hemodynamic monitoring and emergency response
- Strong documentation skills in electronic health records
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-stress environments
