Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local corporate tax returns.
- Direct tax planning initiatives to identify opportunities for efficiency and compliance.
- Manage relationships with high-profile clients, serving as their primary advisor on tax matters.
- Provide expert guidance on tax implications of M&A activity and corporate restructuring.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior tax associates and consultants.
- Lead tax audits and represent clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities.
- Monitor legislative changes and provide proactive updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s in Taxation (MST) highly preferred.
- Active CPA license required.
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive tax experience within public accounting or a large corporate tax department.
- Expert-level proficiency in tax compliance software (e.g., CCH Axcess, GoSystem, or OneSource).
- Deep knowledge of ASC 740 and complex corporate tax structures.
- Proven ability to manage large project portfolios and cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
