Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local income tax returns, including estimated tax payments and extensions.
- Develop and implement corporate tax strategies to minimize tax liability while ensuring full compliance with tax laws.
- Manage and mentor a team of tax analysts and junior accountants, providing guidance on complex tax issues and professional development.
- Conduct tax research on new legislation and regulations, analyzing the potential impact on the organization.
- Prepare and review tax provision packages and supporting schedules for annual financial statements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities during examinations and audits.
- Lead tax planning projects, including transfer pricing studies and international tax considerations.
Qualifications
- CPA license (or eligible to sit for the CPA exam) required; Master’s degree in Taxation or Law is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in corporate tax, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of US tax code, GAAP, and relevant state tax regulations.
- Proficiency in major tax software such as ProSystem fx Tax, UltraTax, or CCH Axcelerate.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to present complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines during tax season.
