In this role, you will oversee complex tax planning, compliance, and strategy for high-net-worth clients and corporate entities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to mitigate risk and identify tax-efficient opportunities in an ever-evolving regulatory landscape.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of federal, state, and local tax filings for diverse corporate portfolios.
- Provide expert guidance on tax implications regarding mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring initiatives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for tax audits, managing communications with regulatory authorities.
- Mentor and supervise a team of tax associates, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth.
- Stay abreast of legislative changes to proactively adjust corporate tax strategies.
- Perform meticulous tax research and provide technical memos on complex tax issues.
- Develop and implement innovative tax planning methodologies to optimize operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation or JD preferred).
- Active CPA license required.
- 8+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm or large corporate tax department.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and tax accounting principles (ASC 740).
- Exceptional leadership skills with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in tax software such as GoSystem, CCH Axcess, or Corptax.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
