Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for corporate and partnership entities.
- Develop and implement sophisticated tax planning strategies to optimize client tax positions.
- Direct the resolution of tax audits and manage communications with the IRS and various state taxing authorities.
- Provide expert technical advice on mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring initiatives.
- Mentor junior tax associates and review their work to ensure accuracy and adherence to firm standards.
- Maintain current knowledge of evolving tax legislation and communicate potential impacts to stakeholders.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery and proactive problem-solving.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s in Taxation (MST) or JD/LLM highly preferred.
- Active CPA license required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in public accounting or a high-level corporate tax role.
- Deep expertise in US federal tax regulations and multi-state compliance.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and lead large-scale projects.
- Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in tax research software (e.g., CCH, RIA Checkpoint).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex tax concepts clearly.
