Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance & Filing: Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring 100% accuracy and timely filing.
- Tax Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement proactive tax strategies to optimize clients' tax liabilities while remaining fully compliant with changing regulations.
- Financial Reporting: Analyze financial statements to identify tax implications and provide actionable insights to management and clients.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and supervise a team of junior tax associates, conducting performance reviews and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Regulatory Adherence: Stay abreast of emerging tax laws and industry trends, advising the firm on necessary compliance updates.
- Client Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, building strong relationships based on trust and expertise.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) license is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in corporate tax accounting and compliance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in major tax software (e.g., ProSystem fx, Vertex, or TaxPro) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Unwavering commitment to accuracy and detail in high-volume reporting environments.
