Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local income tax returns, including 1120, 1065, and 1040 series.
- Conduct thorough tax research and analysis to ensure compliance with the latest IRS regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and implement comprehensive tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while adhering to legal requirements.
- Lead a team of junior accountants, providing mentorship and guidance on technical tax issues.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy in reporting and documentation.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their financial goals and provide expert advisory services.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax environments.
- Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) status is highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of tax software (e.g., Drake, CCH ProSystem fx, UltraTax) and ERP systems.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical tax concepts to clients clearly.
