Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise-grade security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption protocols
- Lead incident response procedures for security breaches, ensuring rapid containment and recovery
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across cloud/on-premise environments
- Develop and maintain security automation frameworks using tools like Ansible and Terraform
- Mentor junior engineers and establish security best practices across development teams
- Stay current with emerging threats (e.g., ransomware, zero-day exploits) and adapt defenses accordingly
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in security engineering with hands-on threat mitigation
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, or OSCP (or equivalent practical experience)
- Expertise in cloud security (AWS/Azure) and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and EDR solutions (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks
- Experience with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST CSF, GDPR)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize security risks
