Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and zero-trust architectures
- Conduct proactive vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Lead incident response procedures for security breaches, ensuring rapid containment and recovery
- Develop and maintain security automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Python
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001) to update security policies
- Mentor junior security engineers and conduct security awareness training across the organization
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity with focus on cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong expertise in network security protocols, encryption technologies, and threat detection systems
- CISSP, CEH, or CISM certification required
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and security tools (Splunk, ELK, SIEM)
- Experience with compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
- Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven track record of reducing security vulnerabilities by 30%+ in previous roles
