Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in machine learning and optimization
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing approaches on superconducting qubit platforms
- Collaborate with hardware teams to identify and mitigate quantum decoherence challenges
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum for internal training
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grants
- Drive patent development for proprietary quantum methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with quantum computing focus
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published record in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and optimization techniques
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and statistical mechanics
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or NISQ devices
- Proven ability to secure research funding
