Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of secure, scalable IT infrastructure for federal systems
- Develop robust cybersecurity frameworks to protect sensitive citizen data
- Coordinate digital transformation initiatives across multiple government departments
- Ensure compliance with Canadian government IT standards (e.g., Treasury Board directives)
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee third-party service integrations
- Train and mentor junior IT specialists on government-specific protocols
- Conduct regular system audits and recommend performance optimizations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise IT infrastructure management
- Government/public sector IT certification (e.g., GCPA, CISSP)
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) with government workloads
- Deep understanding of Canadian privacy legislation (PIPEDA)
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies in public sector contexts
- Strong project management skills with PMP certification preferred
