Responsibilities
- Lead refinery process optimization studies using HYSYS and Aspen Plus simulation software
- Design and troubleshoot complex distillation, separation, and conversion units
- Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and engineering specifications for capital projects
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on process safety management (PSM)
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct technical reviews
- Implement energy efficiency initiatives targeting 15%+ reduction in utility consumption
- Ensure compliance with API 510/520, OSHA 1910.119, and EPA regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of refinery process engineering experience
- Advanced proficiency in process simulation tools (HYSYS, Aspen Plus)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Demonstrated experience with FCC, hydrotreating, and coker units
- Strong knowledge of process safety management systems
- Experience leading capital projects >$50M
- API 570/580 certification highly desirable
