Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive research and analysis of complex policy issues, utilizing quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
- Develop, evaluate, and present evidence-based policy recommendations to senior leadership and inter-agency working groups.
- Draft compelling policy briefs, reports, presentations, and legislative proposals for internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with government agencies, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations to gather insights and foster partnerships.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assessing potential impacts on current and future programs.
- Represent FBSI at conferences, workshops, and public forums, articulating agency positions and fostering constructive dialogue.
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Political Science, Law, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in policy analysis, development, or implementation within a government, think tank, or research setting.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting rigorous research, data analysis, and program evaluation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. legislative and regulatory processes.
- Proficiency with analytical tools and software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, Stata) and advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
