Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of pharmaceutical formulations and drug delivery systems for various therapeutic areas.
- Plan and execute complex experimental studies, including pre-formulation, formulation development, process development, and characterization activities.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to characterize drug substances and drug products, ensuring quality, stability, and bioavailability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with medicinal chemists, biologists, clinical scientists, and regulatory affairs teams to advance projects through the pipeline.
- Author and review technical reports, protocols, regulatory submissions (IND/NDA), and scientific presentations with meticulous attention to detail.
- Mentor junior scientists, providing guidance on experimental design, data analysis, and scientific problem-solving.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, scientific literature, and regulatory guidelines relevant to pharmaceutical development.
- Contribute to patent applications and intellectual property development.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven track record in pharmaceutical formulation development, including experience with various dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, injectables, topical).
- Expertise in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, dissolution, DLS, DSC, FTIR, and mass spectrometry for product characterization.
- Strong understanding of cGMP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory requirements for drug development and manufacturing.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects, solve complex scientific challenges, and drive innovation independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration and presentation of scientific data.
- Proficiency in statistical experimental design (DOE) and data analysis software.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment.
