Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical components and systems using industry-standard CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Analysis & Simulation: Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate design integrity and optimize performance under various loads and conditions.
- Prototyping & Testing: Collaborate with the manufacturing and R&D teams to create prototypes, oversee testing protocols, and iterate on designs based on empirical data.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOM), Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and manufacturing drawings adhering to GD&T standards.
- Project Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, participate in cross-functional project meetings, and ensure project milestones are met within budget and timeline constraints.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and development within a manufacturing or R&D environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or PTC Creo) and simulation tools (ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, additive manufacturing), and assembly mechanics.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
