Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design process from concept validation to production release using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations for structural analysis and thermal optimization
- Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing documentation
- Collaborate with prototyping teams to validate designs through physical testing
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and cost-effectiveness
- Drive DFM/DFA initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and CATIA with advanced surfacing capabilities
- Strong background in FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and thermal analysis
- Experience with automotive powertrain systems or EV battery packaging
- Knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and tolerance analysis
- Proven track record in transitioning designs from prototype to mass production
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
