Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle using CAD tools (SolidWorks/NX) for aerospace components
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications compliant with AS9100 standards
- Collaborate with materials engineers to select optimal alloys and composites
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and cost-effectiveness
- Document design processes and maintain configuration management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and tolerance analysis
- Experience with composite material design and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of FAA/EASA certification requirements for aerospace components
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical systems on schedule
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams
