Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of EV powertrain systems using CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA)
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis for structural optimization and thermal management
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and GD&T specifications
- Collaborate with prototyping team to validate designs through physical testing
- Drive DFM initiatives to reduce production costs and improve quality
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Research and implement advanced materials and lightweighting techniques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive or aerospace
- Expert proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards
- Experience with electric vehicle powertrain systems or battery enclosures
- Proven track record of bringing products from concept to production
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, die casting, CNC)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
