Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace components using CAD/CAE tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural integrity
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production
- Develop detailed technical documentation and design validation plans
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement processes
- Interface with suppliers for component sourcing and qualification
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (AS9100, etc.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace/automotive
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Proven track record of designing complex mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Certification in Six Sigma or equivalent quality methodology
- Experience with GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
- Ability to obtain US security clearance (if required)
