Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact investigative projects from conception to publication
- Cultivate and maintain confidential sources across government and community sectors
- Produce compelling multimedia content including video documentaries and data visualizations
- Mentor junior journalists and editorial interns
- Collaborate with editors to develop long-term editorial strategies
- Represent the organization at industry events and public forums
- Adhere to strict journalistic ethics and fact-checking standards
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional journalism experience with proven investigative portfolio
- Exceptional interviewing and source-building skills
- Mastery of data analysis and FOIA requests
- Experience managing complex projects under tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of digital media trends and SEO best practices
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Portfolio with at least three published investigative pieces
