Responsibilities
- Lead high-impact investigations across politics, business, and social justice sectors
- Develop and maintain confidential sources for exclusive story development
- Produce long-form articles, data-driven reports, and multimedia content
- Collaborate with editors and legal teams to ensure ethical reporting standards
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy
- Represent the publication at industry events and public forums
- Manage investigative budgets and resource allocation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional journalism experience with investigative portfolio
- Proven track record of breaking major stories and winning journalism awards
- Expertise in FOI requests, data analysis, and undercover reporting techniques
- Strong understanding of UK media law and ethical journalism practices
- Exceptional writing skills with ability to simplify complex topics
- Demonstrated digital storytelling experience (video, podcasts, interactive graphics)
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle sensitive information
- Relevant degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
