Responsibilities
- Lead long-form investigative projects from conception through to publication.
- Cultivate and maintain a deep network of reliable, high-level sources across multiple industries.
- Analyze complex data sets, financial records, and legal documentation to identify hidden narratives.
- Collaborate with our digital production team to create multimedia-rich visual storytelling.
- Adhere to the highest standards of journalistic integrity, ethics, and fact-checking protocols.
- Provide mentorship and editorial guidance to junior reporters on the desk.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in professional newsrooms with a proven track record of investigative reporting.
- Expert proficiency in FOIA requests, public records laws, and deep-web research techniques.
- Exceptional narrative writing skills with the ability to distill complex data into accessible content.
- Strong grasp of data journalism tools and digital publishing platforms.
- Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments while meeting strict editorial deadlines.
