Responsibilities
- Lead and conduct in-depth investigations on complex topics, including politics, business, social issues, and more.
- Develop and maintain a network of sources to gather reliable information and leads.
- Write compelling, accurate, and engaging articles, reports, and multimedia content for various platforms.
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and video producers to produce comprehensive news packages.
- Adhere to strict journalistic standards and ethical guidelines in all reporting activities.
- Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices in investigative journalism.
- Occasionally travel to conduct fieldwork and interviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in investigative journalism, with a portfolio of published work.
- Exceptional research and interviewing skills, with a knack for uncovering hidden truths.
- Strong writing and storytelling abilities, with the capacity to translate complex information into accessible content.
- Familiarity with data analysis, public records, and FOIA requests.
- Experience working in a fast-paced news environment and meeting tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of multimedia production, including video editing and audio storytelling, is a plus.
