Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigative projects from concept to publication across print, digital, and broadcast platforms
- Develop and maintain trusted sources across government, NGOs, and industry sectors
- Produce data-driven multimedia stories using visualization tools and advanced research methods
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy development
- Collaborate with legal team to ensure ethical compliance and source protection
- Represent the organization at industry conferences and public forums
- Stay current with emerging technologies in investigative journalism and digital security
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of professional journalism experience with proven investigative portfolio
- Demonstrated expertise in FOIA requests, public records analysis, and undercover reporting
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Flourish) and multimedia storytelling
- Exceptional writing skills with ability to translate complex topics for diverse audiences
- Strong legal knowledge regarding defamation, privacy, and journalistic ethics
- Experience managing editorial budgets and project timelines
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and maintain composure during breaking news
- Master's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred
