Responsibilities
- Lead and execute in-depth investigative reporting projects from conceptualization to publication.
- Develop and maintain a robust network of high-level sources across public and private sectors.
- Analyze complex data sets and public records to uncover trends and hidden information.
- Collaborate with multimedia producers to create compelling visual assets and data-driven storytelling elements.
- Mentor junior reporters and assist in editorial planning sessions to shape daily news coverage.
- Adhere to the highest standards of journalistic integrity, ethics, and fact-checking protocols.
- Represent the publication in public forums, industry panels, and broadcast media appearances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of professional experience in investigative reporting at a reputable news organization.
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact features and investigative exposés.
- Advanced proficiency in FOIA requests, data journalism, and digital research tools.
- Strong editorial judgment and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional narrative writing skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and impact.
- Fluency in a second language and experience with international reporting is a significant asset.
