Responsibilities
- Lead multi-month investigative projects from initial conception through to multi-platform publication.
- Develop and maintain a robust network of high-level sources across government, corporate, and social sectors.
- Collaborate with the data journalism team to extract compelling narratives from complex datasets.
- Produce long-form features, digital shorts, and podcast scripts to maximize story reach.
- Ensure all reporting meets the highest standards of ethics, accuracy, and legal compliance.
- Mentor junior reporters and editors on investigative techniques and FOIA request strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in professional journalism with a proven portfolio of investigative work.
- Demonstrated expertise in public records requests (FOIA) and deep-web research techniques.
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or advanced Excel.
- Exceptional narrative writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex topics for a global audience.
- Strong understanding of media law, libel, and ethical reporting standards.
- Bachelorās degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (Masterās preferred).
