Responsibilities
- Lead complex investigative projects from conception to publication across multiple platforms
- Cultivate and manage confidential sources while maintaining journalistic ethics
- Produce long-form features, documentaries, and data-driven visualizations
- Mentor junior journalists and contribute to editorial strategy
- Develop multimedia storytelling approaches (video, podcasts, interactive graphics)
- Represent the organization at industry events and public forums
- Adhere to strict fact-checking standards and editorial guidelines
Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional journalism experience with proven investigative portfolio
- Demonstrated expertise in FOIA requests, court records, and public records research
- Exceptional writing, editing, and story development skills
- Experience managing cross-platform projects (print, digital, broadcast)
- Strong legal knowledge for libel/slander defense and source protection
- Ability to work under deadline pressure with minimal supervision
- Master's degree in Journalism or related field preferred
