Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications using risk modeling software and actuarial data
- Develop tailored coverage packages for mid-market and enterprise clients across multiple industries
- Collaborate with brokers to structure optimal risk transfer solutions
- Maintain compliance with state regulations and industry best practices
- Mentor junior underwriters and lead cross-functional risk assessment projects
- Present risk recommendations to senior leadership and underwriting committees
- Monitor emerging risks and update underwriting guidelines accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C lines
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or CIC) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting platforms (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Experience with large commercial accounts and complex risk portfolios
- Knowledge of Illinois insurance regulations
