Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial property insurance applications using advanced risk modeling tools
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines for high-value properties in metropolitan areas
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to structure bespoke insurance solutions
- Monitor market trends and regulatory changes affecting property insurance
- Mentor junior underwriters and lead cross-functional risk assessment projects
- Present underwriting recommendations to senior leadership with clear rationale
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial property underwriting experience
- CPCU, ARM, or CERA designation preferred
- Proficiency in Guidewire, Duck Creek, or similar underwriting platforms
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making abilities
- Excellent negotiation and client relationship management skills
- Knowledge of NY insurance regulations and ISO property forms
