Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications to assess risk exposure and determine policy terms
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies for property, casualty, and specialty lines
- Leverage data analytics and predictive modeling to optimize pricing and loss ratios
- Collaborate with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to structure innovative solutions
- Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and industry best practices
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audit and portfolio management
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- Proven expertise in risk assessment, policy structuring, and pricing methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in insurance software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Valid Property & Casualty insurance license (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Exceptional communication skills for client relationship management
- Experience leading cross-functional projects in regulated environments
- CPCU or ARM designation highly desirable
