Responsibilities
- Underwrite complex commercial insurance policies with precision and risk-based judgment
- Analyze financial statements, market trends, and industry regulations to evaluate risk exposure
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines aligned with strategic objectives
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to structure optimal coverage solutions
- Maintain and grow profitable book of business through strategic risk selection
- Lead mentorship initiatives for junior underwriters
- Stay current with emerging risks and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- CPCU or ARM designation strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Deep understanding of insurance regulations (NY, NJ, CT markets)
- Exceptional analytical and negotiation skills
- Proven track record in risk assessment and pricing
- Strong communication and client relationship abilities
