Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial insurance applications using risk assessment methodologies
- Design bespoke insurance policies aligned with client needs and regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial statements, industry trends, and loss history to determine risk exposure
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to negotiate terms and coverage structures
- Lead underwriting committee presentations for high-value accounts
- Mentor junior underwriters and develop team expertise in emerging risk categories
- Implement data-driven strategies to optimize loss ratios and profitability
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field (required)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience (P&C preferred)
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) strongly preferred
- Expertise in property/casualty risk assessment and policy structuring
- Advanced proficiency in insurance rating platforms and data analytics tools
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
