Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial property risks and determine appropriate coverage terms
- Develop underwriting strategies for high-value accounts exceeding $10M premium volume
- Leverage data analytics tools to assess risk exposure and loss potential
- Build relationships with brokers and negotiate policy terms
- Maintain compliance with state insurance regulations and company guidelines
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to team training initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial property underwriting experience
- CPCU designation or willingness to pursue within 18 months
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Valid insurance producer license in Illinois
- Experience with catastrophe modeling tools
