Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial property risks using advanced analytics and industry benchmarks
- Develop and maintain profitable underwriting strategies for high-value accounts
- Build and nurture relationships with brokers and key stakeholders in the NYC market
- Lead underwriting committees and mentor junior team members
- Monitor emerging risks and regulatory changes to inform policy adjustments
- Collaborate with claims department to identify fraud patterns and loss mitigation opportunities
- Contribute to product development initiatives for specialty insurance lines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
- 7+ years of commercial property underwriting experience in NYC market
- ACAS or CPCU designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in insurance rating platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Expertise in catastrophe modeling and risk aggregation analysis
- Strong negotiation skills with proven track record of profitable deal structuring
- Deep knowledge of NY insurance regulations and compliance requirements
- Ability to interpret complex financial statements and engineering reports
