Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications to assess risk exposure and determine appropriate coverage terms
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines for specialized lines including D&O, E&O, and cyber liability
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to structure innovative risk mitigation solutions
- Review and price policies exceeding $10M in aggregate limits
- Lead training initiatives for junior underwriting staff on emerging risk trends
- Monitor claims data to refine underwriting strategies and loss ratios
- Represent the company at industry conferences and regulatory forums
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field
- 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- CPCU or ARM designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Demonstrated expertise in large commercial account underwriting
- Strong knowledge of NY insurance regulations and NAIC standards
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Series 63/65 license or willingness to obtain within 90 days
