Responsibilities
- Underwrite complex commercial insurance policies with precision and strategic foresight
- Analyze risk exposure using advanced data analytics and actuarial modeling
- Develop pricing strategies that balance profitability with competitive market positioning
- Lead cross-functional teams to design bespoke risk management solutions
- Maintain compliance with NY State insurance regulations and industry best practices
- Mentor junior underwriters and drive continuous improvement in underwriting workflows
- Build relationships with brokers and clients to expand our market presence
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- Expert knowledge of ISO rating systems and insurance policy structures
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Relevant insurance designations (CPCU, ARM, or AU)
- Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
- Proven track record in developing innovative risk assessment methodologies
- Experience managing portfolios exceeding $50M in annual premium
