Responsibilities
- Analyze commercial insurance applications and assess risk exposure using actuarial data and market trends
- Design and price bespoke insurance policies for mid-to-large enterprises
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to clarify requirements and negotiate terms
- Monitor policy performance and adjust coverage as market conditions evolve
- Maintain compliance with NY State insurance regulations and industry standards
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process optimization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) preferred
- Expertise in property/casualty or specialty lines insurance
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
