Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications and assess risk exposure using advanced data analytics
- Develop and execute underwriting strategies for high-value accounts across diverse industries
- Collaborate with actuaries and claims teams to optimize policy structures and pricing
- Mentor junior underwriters while maintaining compliance with state/federal regulations
- Identify market trends and propose innovative product solutions to meet evolving client needs
- Lead negotiations with brokers and clients to secure profitable business
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialization
- Proven expertise in risk assessment methodologies and insurance regulations
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial statements
- CPCU or ARM designation required
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
