Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate complex commercial insurance applications across property, casualty, and specialty lines
- Develop and implement risk assessment frameworks using advanced analytics and predictive modeling
- Lead portfolio management decisions with authority limits up to $5M
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process optimization initiatives
- Collaborate with actuarial and claims departments to ensure holistic risk management
- Stay current with regulatory changes and emerging industry trends
- Present risk recommendations to executive stakeholders with data-backed insights
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience with P&C specialties
- Proven expertise in risk analytics and insurance rating methodologies
- Strong proficiency in insurance software (e.g., Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- CEBS, CPCU, or ARM designation required
- Exceptional decision-making skills with attention to regulatory compliance
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and mentoring teams
- Deep understanding of insurance market dynamics and emerging risks
