Responsibilities
- Assess commercial and personal insurance risks using advanced analytics and industry benchmarks
- Develop tailored coverage solutions and pricing strategies for high-value portfolios
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to address complex risk exposures
- Monitor regulatory compliance and emerging insurance trends
- Mentor junior underwriters and optimize underwriting workflows
- Lead portfolio profitability analysis and loss ratio improvements
- Represent the company at industry conferences and client meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of property/casualty insurance underwriting experience
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent negotiation and communication abilities
- Knowledge of Illinois insurance regulations and NAIC standards
- Experience with commercial lines and specialty markets
