Responsibilities
- Assess complex commercial risks and design tailored insurance solutions for high-value clients
- Leverage predictive analytics and AI-driven tools to optimize risk selection and pricing
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to develop innovative insurance products
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless policy execution and compliance
- Drive underwriting excellence through continuous process improvement initiatives
- Maintain deep expertise in emerging risks (cyber, climate, ESG) and regulatory landscapes
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to departmental knowledge development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- 7+ years of progressive commercial insurance underwriting experience
- Professional designations (CPCU, ARM, AU) or equivalent technical expertise
- Proven track record in managing complex risk portfolios with $50M+ premium exposure
- Expertise in regulatory frameworks (NAIC, NYDFS) and compliance protocols
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to synthesize diverse data sources
- Strong negotiation capabilities and stakeholder management experience
