Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial insurance applications through rigorous risk assessment methodologies
- Develop and implement pricing strategies for specialized insurance products
- Lead negotiations with brokers and clients to structure optimal coverage terms
- Maintain compliance with state and federal insurance regulations (NYDFS, NAIC)
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to continuous process improvements
- Collaborate with claims and actuarial teams to refine risk models
- Identify emerging market trends and propose innovative product solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience
- Strong knowledge of property/casualty insurance products and regulations
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in insurance rating systems
- CEBS, CPCU, or ARM designation highly desirable
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Demonstrated success in managing high-value insurance portfolios
- Experience with underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
