Responsibilities
- Analyze complex commercial insurance applications using quantitative and qualitative risk assessment methodologies
- Develop and maintain profitable underwriting strategies for mid-market enterprises
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to structure tailored coverage solutions
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing new underwriting technologies
- Maintain compliance with state/federal insurance regulations and internal protocols
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to departmental best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience with P&C lines
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) required
- Advanced proficiency in insurance rating platforms (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Demonstrated expertise in risk modeling and predictive analytics
- Strong negotiation skills with ability to articulate complex risk concepts
- Proven track record in portfolio profitability optimization
