Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex commercial property insurance applications using quantitative analysis and risk modeling
- Develop and maintain profitable underwriting guidelines for high-value portfolios
- Build relationships with brokers and negotiate optimal policy terms
- Mentor junior underwriters while maintaining quality control standards
- Analyze market trends and regulatory changes to inform strategic decisions
- Collaborate with claims teams to mitigate loss ratios
- Present risk recommendations to underwriting committees
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial property insurance underwriting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field
- ARM, AU, or CPCU designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in risk assessment software (e.g., Duck Creek, Guidewire)
- Strong understanding of ISO property rating algorithms
- Proven track record in portfolio management and loss ratio optimization
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, results-driven environments
