Responsibilities
- Analyze complex insurance applications and determine risk factors using advanced data analytics
- Develop and implement underwriting policies that balance profitability and client needs
- Collaborate with brokers to structure customized coverage solutions for high-value clients
- Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and competitive positioning
- Mentor junior underwriters while maintaining a portfolio of $50M+ in premium volume
- Leverage AI-driven tools to enhance risk assessment accuracy and efficiency
- Present risk recommendations to the underwriting committee with data-backed justifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of commercial underwriting experience with specialization in property/casualty
- ARM, CPCU, or AU designation with active continuing education
- Expertise in ISO rating systems and predictive modeling tools
- Proven track record of optimizing loss ratios while maintaining growth targets
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting platforms like Duck Creek or Guidewire
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex datasets
