Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex insurance applications using advanced risk assessment methodologies
- Design and customize policy coverage aligned with client needs and regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial data to determine appropriate premiums and coverage limits
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to resolve claims discrepancies and policy adjustments
- Maintain compliance with state/federal insurance regulations and industry best practices
- Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to process optimization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of commercial property/casualty underwriting experience
- Professional designation (CPCU, ARM, or AU) strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in underwriting software (Guidewire, Duck Creek)
- Deep knowledge of insurance regulations (NY DFS, NAIC standards)
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
